    Interesting - milder than Pernod anise

    I like it it’s milder in flavour and more complicated than Pernod anise. A more complicated flavour - different herbal notes.

    Unfortunately it is not for an evening at 55% it is strong.

    first time ever

    hello
    I am an American living in Japan . As you probably know this drink is outlawed where i come from but here in Japan its available .
    I was a bit leary about drinking it after reading how some of the ingredients may be toxic. So far so good . im still alive . i poured a small amount in to a glass and added cold water slowly . I was surprised how much like anisette or sambucca it tasted like . Anyway Im glad i finally tried it .. Its good.

    Dear Sir, thank you very much for your message and glad that you liked our absinthe. Actually our absinthe Absente 55° and Grande Absente 69° are also available in the USA where it is now allowed like in almost every countries in the world. The toxic ingredient you’re talking about it the thujone which is a molecule found in plants from Artemisia family (among which wormwood or Artemisia Absinthium which is the main ingredient in absinthe). In very high quantity, thujone can be neurotoxic and hallucinogenic but it is much more the alcohol content that one must be careful with in absinthe. And we recommend of course to drink absinthe or any other alcoholic drink, responsibly. Regarding anise taste, every absinthe contains anise (star anis, green anis and/or fennel) so it is normal that you felt the similarity with anisette. Actually absinthe is the ancestor of pastis and anisette. Best regards, Antoine Robert

    inspiration

    Amateur de substance en tout genre, c'est ma première absynthe, le goût est agréable mais j'avais plus à l'idée de me forger un avis sur l'effet psychotrope de la thuyone.
    Je dois dire que je suis servis, je me sens l'éveillé et l'esprit très créatif et entouré par une douce chaleur euphorique, remarquablement surpris, bon produit.

    Bonjour Aiden, Nous vous remercions pour votre message et sommes ravis que l'Absente vous plaise ! La réglementation française a fixé le taux de thuyone (molécule présente dans la plante Absinthe-Artemisia absinthium qui, à forte dose peut être hallucinogène) dans la fabrication de l'absinthe à un maximum de 35 mg/kg. Notre Absente, contient de la thuyone jusqu' à 10 mg/kg, et doit, bien entendu, être consommée avec modération.
